National Hiking Day is celebrated every year on November 17th. Since 2015, on this day, we are encouraged to get out and explore the great outdoors, and enjoy the many health benefits of hiking. For those who hike with us and come back time and time again, you know it is a great way to get exercise, get fresh air, and see areas of the state that were once farm land or agriculture land that is now protected. In these woodlands, you can still see artifacts from the colonists from 200-300 years ago.

While we typically plan 5-6 mile hikes and occasionally 10+ mile hikes that are moderately challenging, there are many hiking trails in Rhode Island that offer a variety of options based on your comfort level. Whether you are a beginner looking for a short distance, easy stroll or more experienced hiker looking for a longer distance with challenging landscapes and elevation, you will find a trail that is just right for you nearby.
