The Ten Mile River Greenway is a scenic 2.5-mile paved path that winds through East Providence and Pawtucket, offering a peaceful escape into nature without leaving the city. Slater Mill, built in 1793, was the first successful water-powered spinning mill in the US, launching the American Industrial Revolution. Slater Mill was operational for approx 102 years until 1895, at which point it was repurposed. Over the years, the area has transformed several times eventually being transferred to the National Park Service in 2021. Their goal is to preserve the space and provide use it for educational use. Today, the area is now primarily used for walkers, picnickers, and other activities requiring open space.

There are many paved paths and some dirt trails
